Images of Capitol Reef National Park in Utah, taken in April 2008.
The park features formations such as The Castle and Capitol Dome and spectacular canyons and gorges including the Capitol Gorge where early settlers carved their names in the rock walls (Pioneer Register) as they used the passage to get through the rough terrain. The park also includes the Fruita Historic District, a tiny Mormon community that thrived in the late 1890’s through the early 1900’s.
