Saguaro National Park, Arizona

Featuring the towering Saguaro cactus, which can grow to a height of 50 feet and live as long as 175 to 200 years, Saguaro National Park spotlights the Sonoran desert and its unique plants and animals. The months of April and May are a particularly good time to visit as many of the plants, including the Saguaro, are in full bloom. Saguaro National Park is also adjacent to Tucson Mountain Park which protects even more of the natural desert setting to the west of Tucson.
