Kilmore Quay is a well known fishing village in South Wexford . The fishing industry is now struggling to survive . It was aslo up to the 1970s famous as an onion growing area - due to its sandy soils . This industry has now disappeared due to '' progress'' - .The Saltee Islands [ a well known bird sanctuary ] are a few miles from Kilmore quay.
Also a horse named Kilmore - won the Grand National in 1962 @ 28/1.
