When I am outdoors, I focus most of my attention on critters, flowers, and insects that live on solid ground and depend on firm soil, sunshine, and fresh air. However, there is a whole other world that lurks beneath the surface of the waters and wetlands and nourish plants and animals alike. Sometimes if you sit quietly at the water's edge or on a boardwalk on a warm, sunny day, you will see an amazing variety of life living just below the surface.
