I found very little information on the internet about birding at Elk Island, so we asked the person at the gate where to go. He recommended a spot on Astotin Lake well away from the main facility behind the warden's office. We found lots of grebes, gulls, pelicans, terns and ducks on the lake, and two shorebirds close to the shore. I wasn't able to get a clear photo of this fellow.
