A Little Wildlife Garden in Suburbia

Although my yard in suburban Kanata is small, I've had many interesting visitors over the years. It all started in 2005 when I wanted to attract birds by planting berry-producing shrubs and seed-producing flowers. The following year I decided I wanted to add flowers to attract butterflies and hummingbirds; the results were satisfying enough for me to keep experimenting with wildlife-friendly plants in the years since then. These galleries document some of the plants I have grown and some of the creatures that have visited my own miniature wildlife garden since its inception.

Images are in reverse chronological order.
