福建土楼Traditional Living Houses of Fujian Kejia People
Kejia, in Chinese it means "Guest family", used to be emigrants from the Henan province. They came to Fujian and settled down here. To protect themselves from robbers, they built their houses with a round or rectanglar form, with all rooms facing the center and only one door leading to the outside. There used to be up to 100 families living in one house. These houses remain well-preserved until today and offer a fascinating view from far away. They were also recognized as World Culture Heritage by the UNECEF.
