Lama Temple (ÓººÍ¹¬) was first built in 1694 AD as the palace for a Chinese prince. In 1744, Emperor Qianlong had its size largely extended and changed it into a Lama Temple, he also invited 500 Lamas from Mogolia to live in this temple.
Guozijian (¹ú×Ó¼à) - school of the sons of the state, used to be the headquarter of education offices in old China. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the best students from allover China came here to take the exams, and to become the high officers of the state. Beside it is the Confucius Temple (¿××ÓÃí). Every year a celebration of Confucius' birthday is taken place here.
