Abu Simbel

The great example of architecture from Ramesses 2nd, who concurred lower Egypt and united the whole Egypt. The building of the temple started in about 1284 BC, and lasted 20 years.
Every morning, the rising sun shines on the four sitting statues of Ramesses 2nd; and twice a year, though precise calculation and construction, the sun light goes deeply through the temple and shines on the three of the four statues of gods in the chamber.
A pity that no photo is allowed inside the temples.
