Our Last Picture of Him **

Lackland AFB TX

We've said our teary good byes as Matt leaves for the dorm with his newly-purchased suitcase
acquired at the BX on his first shopping sojourn. I quickly grab the camera to grab one last shot. When I get home, I see the mirror and an opporunity to use a little Photoshop magic to recall what
was an inspiring and emotional weekend.

What a wonderful gift to us parents awaiting our child's graduation. Our son was to leave for BMT 9/19/2012 but due to a temporary medical concern he was delayed until now. He is scheduled to leave out 4/9/2013. We anticipate seeing his graduation in early June. My wife and I have been to San Antonio on a business trip and found it a great place to visit. I'm sure that it will be even better with our recently coined Airman with us. Thank you so much for your thoughts and pictures of the event. Wishing you and your family the best of luck and God's speed in all that you do.

Barry,
Thanks so much for the photos. My youngest son will be graduating on 01-06-12. This gives me an idea of what I missed when my two other sons graduated from BMT. Because of the youngest son's birth I was not able to attend the oldest son's graduation. He is now retired from the Air Force. Second son stayed for 4 years then came out. Don't know why I didn't attend his graduation. We will all be attending this last one. Thanks for a job well done!

Barry, I agreed the ceremony was very moving. Our son just graduated from BMT on 10/21/2011. Our family have always been a military supported family and am proud to be a military parent. Hope your Airman is doing well in what ever endeavor he choses. Please let him know that though we do not know him personally, we are proud that he is serving such a old and respect tradition and also the sacrifice and dedication it takes serve in our armed forces. Regards, Benjamin and DiAna Smith, son, Airman Getchell.

WOW! Your photos and posts are wonderful. We are also parents of an (almost) airman. Our son will graduate next Friday 1/14/11. We cannot wait to see him! He is our only child and are so so proud of all he has accomplished. Your photos gave me some ideas of how I want to remember his BMT graduation. Thank you for taking the time doing all this. You did an excellent job!!!!
