Red-bellied Woodpeckers

A pair of Red-bellied Woodpeckers have set up house in my backyard. There was a lot of action as they cleaned out the nest, and a lot of vocalizations. Things have settled down now. I'm guessing the eggs are being laid now. She will lay about four eggs, one a day. Incubation will be about 12 days. The male will usually sit on the eggs at night. When the eggs hatch, one parent will bring food while the other will stay with the hatchlings. The hatchlings will fledge at around 25 days. They will stay around the nest site for a couple of months.
