The Ventura Harbor area is a frequent day trip destination for us, especially when the San Fernando Valley temperatures climb toward 100F. There are plentiful photo opportunities for birds at the Santa Clarita River estuary, the Ventura Ponds, along the beach, and in the marina. The marina offers an interesting combination of pleasure craft and commercial fishing boats and a great place for fish and chips and chowder.
