El Dorado Park is located in Long Beach, California between the San Gabriel River and the 605 Freeway. Covering 388 acres, the park offers a Nature Center, four miles of bike trails, an archery range, picnic areas with BBQs, a model aircraft area, a model sailboat area, pedal boat rentals, train rides, fishing in some of the lakes, and is home to over 150 species of birds. It was the last attraction that drew us to make the 50 mile drive down to Long Beach. There had been reports of an immature Bald Eagle in the park recently. Soon after our arrival we spotted it in the distance being chased by several smaller birds. Got some photos, but not good ones and unfortunately, didn't see the eagle again during our stay at the park.
