Every Fall, that year's third-generation of Monarch butterflies makes an incredible journey. These 1/2 ounce creatures travel from the eastern US and Canada to the forests of central Mexico! The Monarchs cover about 50 miles a day, making numerous stops for food and rest on their 1200+ mile journey. Cape May New Jersey, situated at the northern border of the Delaware Bay is one of those stops. I went there with a group of friends to photograph the Monarchs doing their thing.

Monarchs have orange wings with black veins. A significant number of brown-winged butterflies were in this group. I don't know what kind they are or where they are going. Maybe word of beautiful weather and low taxes has spread...
