An annual reenactment of the American revolutionary war battle at Monmouth New Jersey.

The revolutionaries battled British "redcoats" aided by professional Hessian soldiers (green uniforms). According to the reenactment, the battle ended in a standoff -- a relative success for the mostly ragtag American army. This battle is credited with the origin of the "Molly Pitcher" legend. The re-enactors are volunteers who personally fund their costumes, weapons, supplies and horses.
