For the journey, we actually used two identical Viking longships, the Viking Magni and Viking Baldur. Both were built in 2013 and are vitually identical. Both are 443 ft long with 95 cabins and a nominal passenger capacity of 190. The design and decorating are very modern. Although we were booked on the Baldur with an Amsterdam departure, due to high water on the rivers, Baldur could not navigate under some of the lower bridges. So Viking placed our passenger load on the Magni for the first half of the cruise. In Nuremberg, we packed our bags, took a day tour and returned at the end of the day to the identical cabin, but on the Baldur. Seamless.
