Shanghai is very western in many ways, particularly architecture. Shanghai Expo 2010 which lasted from May 1 to October 31 attracted 73 million visitors. We did not visit the site as it was crawling with visitors. The water village of Tongli provided a glimpse of the past. The canals are used for transportation, clothes washing and chamber pot washing, among other uses. The Shanghai Acrobatic Show was an amazing display of athleticism and creativity.
