Speeding across Inle Lake back to our hotel, after a whole day out on the lake. The sun was beginning to set, and the temperature was also dropping rapidly, to a few degrees Centigrade above zero. And the wind chill factor caused by the speeding boats made matters worse for some members in the group who had not brought along warm clothing due to a miscommunication/mistake by our tour agency back home before we departed for the trip. The fading light of the setting sun (and fast camera shutter speed of 1/1600 sec) have muted the colors and flattened the image, which expressed quite appropriately the mood of the moment. The speeding movement of the boat was freezed out by the fast shutter speed of the camera, but the spray kicked up by the engine of the boat in the picture, as well as that in the foreground from my own boat, conveyed the sense of motion and speed.
