We stopped by a small vegetable market along the road to Mandalay, to photograph the local market life and scene. It was full of activities and colour, with stalls selling fruits, vegetables and other stuff, and the people were amiable and friendly and not averse to having their pictures taken.
We encountered a group of young novice monks seeking alms at the market, like the one in this picture. All monks in Burma including novices must make their livelihood by seeking alms, setting out two hours before dawn and going from door to door, and the food received is the monks' only meal of the day.
