It was astonishing. This was the main road from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou, just past Songpan, yet this flock of yaks and their herdsmen/women were walking in carefree abandon along the road across the full width of it and blocking traffic in both directions, totally oblivious to the dangers they were posing to themselves and motorists on the road. The bus in fact had to stop for them to move aside! And the herdsmen/women were smiling and waving at us...
