In the main hall of the temple is the statue of ShiLou, the founder of Dongba religion, with two guarding spirits "You" and "Ma" standing beside it. The Naxi people believe that it was ShiLuo who brought the holy classics scripture from heaven. Its content formed the Dongba religious principles which include ethics, morality, customs, etc. He is the founder of the Dongba faith, and his disciples were also given the title "Dongba" which also means sages.

The structure standing in front of the temple is a big burner where the Naxi people burn incense to worship Shiluo and pray for a peaceful and prosperous life.
