Baisha Village is located near Lijiang. It is a small village inhabitated mainly by the ethnic Naxi people that seems to be frozen in time, comprising little more than dirt streets and mud-brick houses and lacking the tourism-related facilities and other trappings of Lijiang Old Town. Yet, the experience of visiting Baisha Village was a unique one.
Baisha Village's claim to fame is its murals, called Baisha Murals, which provide a fascinating insight into the different religious cultures and art forms of Buddhism, Lamaism, Taosim and the Naxi Dongba religion.
