Cangshan Mountain, also known as Diancangshan, is located west of Dali. The mountain is most famous for its 19 peaks (highest of which reaches up to 4100m), between each of which a stream flows down to irrigate the fields below and finally reaching Erhai Lake. Hence, it is sometimes referred to as the "Nineteen-Peaks-and-Eighteen-Streams" mountain.
The mountain can now be reached by cable-chair, starting from west of the ancient town of Dali and goes to Zhonghe Temple about half-way up the mountain. The cable-chair ride is one of the longest in the region, and takes about 25 minutes each way.
