This photo was taken at the Singapore National Orchid Centre recently.

Based on the tag, this is a ‘Zygopetalum Impasto Blue’ orchid, a common enough species of orchids which can be bought at the local nursey store.

But it looks somewhat frightening to me … and conjures up images of Ridley Scott’s Alien in my mind. It looks ready to extend out a Xenomorph tongue to shred anyone into pieces ...
