These vultures hail from the high mountain ranges of the Himalayas in Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, Pakistan, North India and Afganistan. According to the information plate at the cage enclosure of this magnificient bird, this pair of Himalayan Griffon Vultures were found soaring over Orchard Road in Singapore in Dec 04. Exhausted from the long journey, they were found weak and brought to the Jurong Bird Park where they have now fully recovered.

This image was taken at an ISO of 3200, under the poor lighting conditions of the overcast sky in the raining season which has been plaguing Singapore for the past few weeks. I will go back again when the weather (and lighting) is better to take more pictures of these magnificent birds of prey.
