To Remember

Although human life is too
short for our dreams,
it's greatest moments never die,
they transcend the cruelty of
death in the security of memory.
Our beloved friend is gone - he
will not return. Yet, in some special
way, he is pleasantly with us. The
pain of separation is softened by
recollection; the terror of loneliness
is forgotten through revery.
Courage tempered by understanding
must be our guide. Death is the end
of everyone; to accept death, yet
with all our hearts desire life, is the
essence of wisdom.
