This is my oldest camera. However, thinking about it, technically it's my second proper camera and my fourth actual camera. My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic that my uncle gave me for Christmas when I was five. For a long time it was the family's only camera, so there are a stack of square 4x4s, faded colours and blurry, of my sister and I in some very embarassing clothes. I then had one of those horrid flat 110 cameras with a flash on one end. The less said about that the better. My first proper camera was an Olympus OM-2n with a 35mm/f2 lens, which I favoured for its lightness, simplicity and flexibility. The lenses were fantastic value and quality too. A few years later, having acquired a few lenses and a motor drive, the final purchase in this series was this OM-4 body, which was partly paid for by trading in the older body. As you can see, it's led a full life. It hasn't seen much service in the last few years, and it may never see any use again. I'm surprised and much saddened by the extent to which small dings and scratches in the body have corroded. But the viewfinder is still clear and clean and the shutter still happily clishinks at 1/60th in mechanical mode. Part of me wishes they made a 6+ megapixel back for this body because I still love it.
