Dad and Jen Christmas 1987

I am watching Oprah today and the question is being asked,
"If you could have one more ordindary day with someone you have lost, who would it be?"
For me, it would be my Dad.
I miss him so much and I would have so many questions and I would want to share my daughter with him.
We would listen to Patsy Cline and we would go buy lottery tickets.
He would tell really bad jokes and I know there would be tons of laughing and smiling...
So, I ask you...
If you could have one more ordinary day with someone you have loss,
who would that be and how would you spend that day?

I'd love to have another day with Grandma Pettitt - I only ever really knew her when I was a boy, as due to a family rift I did not see that side of the family as an adult. She was born in 1877 and died aged 105. The stories she could tell - what I do know is that by the age of 23 she had lost both of her parents and her cousin, also 23, was in the same position and together they brought up their younger siblings as joint 'mums'.

Jen- when I heard this question advertising the show, I, too, instantly thought of my dad. There are so many things I'd like to ask him and chat with him about. He enjoyed Patsy Cline and all her c/w friends, and tried so hard to win the lottery....not for himself but for his kids. How I would love for him to see his grandchildren AND great grandchildren....I can just see him watching them closely, with that special smile of his.

Beautiful sentiment. If I could, I'd like to have another day with my grandfather. He was always full of stories from way back and I miss him dearly. I'd also like to request a day with my grandmothers too! Just to hug their necks one more time and tell them how much I love and miss them all. Okay, I gotta go get a tissue now!

Great hair Jen! (Hmmm...is that lipstick on your forehead?)
: )
Before he passed away, I had started communicating regularly with my uncle
(my mom's brother). He always had funny insights into everything and was the
life of the family party. Everyone loved him and it was sad when he passed away.
Would have loved to have gone to a baseball game with him and just chatted
about sports in general.

Zat you? I don't have any shots of me & my dad except one when I was just four yrs old.
I'd pick my dad, go fishin', and bring the camera too!~

I long for Ellie to have been able to meet my grandmother (Dad's mom) and grandfathers. That is the price I pay for waiting so late in life to start.
