I survived America's Loneliest Highway US 50

US Hwy 50 cuts through central Nevada on it's way across America. The stretch of US 50 I drove to get to Moab is dubbed America's loneliest Highway. It is so desolate in fact that I drove over 350 miles in one stretch before I came across a car heading in my direction. The road is so empty and the views so expansive that you can see other cars headlights at night 25mins before you pass them. If you need to stretch or pee ... you don't wait for a rest stop ... you don't even need to pull over. You can just stop in the middle of the road and do your business ... its not like there's anybody around.

Playing in the sand in central Nevada.	This is real desert!	2WD doesn't do too good in sand!	Offroading in eastern NV.	Old homestead somewhere in Nevada. Nobody was home.
Just Outside of Ely, NV. Stopped to view some Elk. They were too far away for my camera.	Nevada is the most Mountainous State in the US! Over 350 named Mountain Ranges. Who knew?	Rest Stop along US 50.	Cool Picture of an actual Rest Stop.	If you look closely you can see where the highway weaves its way up the mountains.
US 50 crosses over a dozen mountain ranges through Nevada. There were at least 10 mtn passes over 7000 feet!	Where desert meets mountains.	This is an odd roadside attraction. Apparently alot of people have decided to toss there old shoes into this tree in the middle of nowwhere.	Closeup of the shoe tree ... there must be 1000 pairs in that tree.
