I didn't spend my whole trip driving and biking. I ventured off on two interesting hikes while in the desert. The first hike was through a 10,000 - 8,000 year old petroglyphs site outside of Fallon, NV. The petroglyphs were very interesting ... but after the sun went down this place made my skin crawl. A few times, I heard a very loud buzzing/flapping sound right behind me even though nothing was there. When I got back to the truck I was startled again by what I thought was a man standing right behind me, again nothing there. I was happy to get back on the highway.
The second hike was into the Utah backcountry in search of some dinosaur fossils. As you can tell from the pictures I was not disappointed.
