I have my truck setup so that I can comfortably sleep in the back ... its easier than pitching a tent. This allows me to pull over a sleep virtually anywhere. April is usually a good time for camping in the Southwest. Temps are usually in the mid 70s during the day and low 40s at night. As luck would have it the entire West Coast was hit with a freakesh cold snap during my trip. The high for the days were typically in the low 40s with the nighttime temps reaching way below freezing. Everything in the truck froze ... my water, toothpaste, even beer I had in the cooler. Fortunately I brought lots of warm clothing and have a very good sleeping bag.
