I still feel a little weird saying HAPPY Halloween.
I have to be honest. I don't know too much about the origin of this holiday. I do believe that it was Celtic and it had something to do with spirits looking for bodies to possess.
Whatever was the original meaning of All Hallows Eve, today it served as an opportunity to bring joy to so many children. And, so many volunteers served to make it a reality, transforming the Children's Specialized Hospital parking deck into a ghoul-filled Haunted Trail.
Michele and Cheryl once again planned an incredible event and mobilized dozens of volunteers to lend their expertise. Even a fierce storm couldn't derail the production.
In the end, dozens of children, some walking while others utilizing wheelchairs, laughed, screamed (and to be honest, one or two cried)and had a unique experience. Now, it's time for the goblins and witches to have a well-deserved rest.
