There are very few things in this World I enjoy more than live outdoor music.
It was a haul to get out to Portland, Oregon this morning. The first 5 minutes of the flight felt like an eternity. I learned that one must not chug an entire cup of coffee and glass of orange juice moments before your plane leaves the gate. The bladder protested violently while I was a prisoner of seat 1E until the plane reached cruising altitude. Anyway, live and learn.
Mark, Renu's friend who lives in town was nice enough to accompany us around a little corner of Portland where the weekly farmer's market takes place. Lunch was a goat cheese and tomato sandwich on freshly baked roasted garlic and onion bread. The blues renditions of this musician helped to create the perfect atmosphere for the day.
Tomorrow, we will be off on our first hike of the trip, searching for beautiful places where water starts up high and finishes quickly and significantly lower.
