The hands of a climber are his interface with the rock. This connection is vital in this pursuit...it allows one passage along a chosen path but the rock will leave its mark...collect its toll in flesh. One may use tape to protect the skin but the rock will eventually do away with that. Climbing is often a means to walk a spiritual path; but, there is no way to avoid paying the price.
