I think I saw LOVE today.
This evening was the graduation ceremony for our hospital's residency and fellowships. My friend, Jack, was one of the graduating residents.
Jack is an extraordinary person. He was a true rock star, having toured the World playing arenas and stadiums. He is now a physician with a family (possibly an equally impressive feat).
At the graduation, a few of the seniors played an incredible set of classic rock ( http://www.pbase.com/jenfu/graduation-2005 ). What was more amazing to me was what I noticed in the audience. This photo is of Jack's lovely wife. She sat quietly watching the performance, but what struck me was the warmth that was evident in her eyes as she watched her husband perform. Her expression, I believe, was saying that she understood the passion that Jack has for his music and that she loved him for it.
My interpretation of what I witnessed may be wrong. But, I certainly hope that I'm not too far off because it warmed my heart and gave me a little more hope for the World.
