I went for sushi with some great friends tonight. I've mentioned in the past that for me sushi is usually associated with celebrations. There was no special occasion tonight nor was it a holiday. There was only a spontaneous gathering of friends and honestly, that is plenty to celebrate about.
At this sushi restaurant, they give you these lists of menu items and you just check off what you would like. A few minutes later, they bring you exactly what you requested. Life isn't quite like that. You can wish and hope for different things but only time will reveal what is ultimately in the cards for you. That's why I have a new perspective. No more waiting for special occasions. It's time to celebrate all that I have in my life already...such as great friends.
