Winter was the last season in which I did not visit the Great Swamp. We had to remedy that today. Matt, Sharon, Fred and I took a lovely walk throgh the Swamp. There were new trails and overlooks to explore but I fear that much of the birds have headed south for more benign surroundings.
It was still a wonderfully unique place.
As Sharon told me, these are "Cat Tails." They were so beautifully backlit by the warm sun that I couldn't resist.
I was so happy to escape the confines of the indoors for a short period of time.
