Radizio. Radizio. Radizio. What a concept. I have to hand it to the Brazilians. They sure do know how to put meat on long, metal skewers, and slowly broil them over an open wood fire. Even the chicken hearts were tasty.
Once again, food was the central focus of our celebration. By sharing food, we share that which we all invariably require for life. It is the purest form of community. Perhaps that is why momma always taught us to not take the first or last piece of bread. Food is that which we need to share and sharing it with others is the purest sign that one would like to be part of a family that prospers together.
So, I am thankful for food, friendship...and when the two overlap seamlessly.
