Hiroshima Survivor Kazuhiko Futagawa 2427

Hiroshima Memorial- Hiroshima, Japan

One of the few remaining survivors- he was actually in his mother's womb when the first atomic bomb dropped on humans was used. The yellow dot is where his father was working- he did not survive. The red dot shows where we are and the yellow dot on the right is where the bomb detonated. A shockwave from the blast flattened some buildings and others (which were mostly wood) were ignited by the fire ball. Basically the only building left was made of stone- and is still left as a reminder of that terrible day. Most of the survivors were children who tried to fight the fires and later rebuild.
