It was one of the heaviest snowstorms on record for the DC area - we had 26" on the street and drifts over 36" around the house.
A local news station posted snow amounts:
http://wtop.com/?nid=25&pid=0&sid=1880749&page=2 Based on this, my area (Colesville) got the most snow in the region: 40 inches. Now, I measured all around our property and didn't think it was that much, but maybe it had packed down by then (when I was clearing the driveway, it was much denser as I got deeper).
Overall, this was the 4th largest snowfall on record for the area (tying one from 1922) and this season 1.6" away from having the most snow in 100 years, and 9.9" away from the most on record. With "more than 5 inches" expected on Tuesday night, I guess we'll break the 100 year record for sure.
By the way, as I was typing this a local TV channel showed a report from the next street down from ours off of Fairland. They interviewed people who've been without power since Saturday night, and showed spots where the snow came up to the reporters waist (we have spots that deep around our house). Our lights flickered on Saturday, but came back after about a minute - we've been very lucky.
Update: They have announced another storm starting tomorrow (Tuesday) night: 10-20 inches expected with high winds meaning blizards and downed power lines. I guess we'll be beating all records for snowfall this season.

Nice images. I have been browsing Pbase for DC area snow photos. Amazing. I am in Gairhtersburg, and my images are here. http://www.pbase.com/roffee/2010
Nice snow report! I'm fascinated by the amount of snowfall in such a short time, and more still to come!
Good luck, keep the 7D ready, the drought side of the country can only enjoy a real Winter by seeing images like yours..
:O)
