June 25, 2016 Red Storm vs. Reston Herndon @ Fred Crabtree Field
A beautiful, warm summer morning, low-80s at 10AM game time.
Rough first game of the 2016 Virginia 9-10 District 4 Tournament. Reston pitched an outstanding game, and the Red Storm could not advance any runners who were in scoring position. Tough shutout loss, 0-12.
From Coach Toole:
"Rough start today but keep your heads up. We had a tough draw to start our tournament. We have some good opportunities coming up to chalk up some wins is let's do it!
We talked after the game about adversity and dealing with it. Players will not always succeed, but what will define them will be how they deal with failure. I think that starts now. We have put ourselves in a tight spot but I am confident we can fight our way out of it and get to the district semi finals. The storm needs to start brewing now! All our boys want to see that team again which I think says a lot about us. Encourage your player to keep his head up! Lets go Red Storm!"
