July 2, 2016 Vienna Red Storm vs. Alexandria @ Rhodes Field

Another beautiful, low humidity summer morning, low-80s at 10AM game time.

The coin toss determined that the Red Storm would be the home team. The Storm did not allow any runs in the top of the first and took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the inning. Alexandria battled back, took a 4-3 lead in the top of the 2nd only to be answered by Vienna to tie it 4-4 after 2. Alexandria took another lead in the 3rd and the #StormSurge tied the game 6-6 in the 4th. Alexandria put together a few hits & walks and took a 9-6 lead in the top of the 6th and the Storm was not able to answer. Tough, well played ball game, w/ Alexandria getting the win, 6-9.

From Coach Toole:

"Great job yesterday. That was some great baseball by both teams. It was a tough loss but our boys should be proud of their effort. Way to go!"
