"Saturday’s game was another step forward for the Mariners. We continue to hit the ball well and have quality at bats throughout the game. It was even more noticeable to me this game b/c we faced a team whose pitchers were a definite change of pace from our first two games. Our pitchers are throwing strikes and challenging the opposing batters. Defense is starting to display some lights of improvement. We had innings that we fielded the ball well and potentially made some plays. Unfortunately we had a couple of innings when we just could not catch the ball. We need to and are focusing on the catching, blocking and backing up and every throw and pitch in the game. Sunday's practice tonight was a great example."
