Hike over Thunder Pass

Scenes from "Over the Hill #4" (July 24, 2004). This year we hiked from the Colorado River Trailhead on CO Hwy 34 (in Rocky Mountain National Park) over the Continental Divide at Thunder Pass to the Michigan Ditch Trailhead at Cameron Pass on CO Hwy 14. The hike was 13 miles with a 2300' elevation gain from 9000' at the Colorado River Trailhead to 11,331' at Thunder Pass.

Wow! I was there in 1970 when I was 19. I was the La Poudre Pass ranger.

I ran across your website while I was researching my return to Thunder Pass. I was first there in 1970 as a 17 year old working to make the Ditch Camp #9 campsite in RMNP. I returned with a college buddy in 77, and again with my 2 sons in 91. Each time we came up through the Park and this summer we'll do it from Cameron Pass thanks to you.
