Machining larger objects than lathe swing allows

Mr. Robert Silas http://robertsilas.com/ needed to take off 6mm from the hub of his BMW wheel. The swing of his lathe was too small so he fabricated an arbor inserted on the left end of the lathe, mounted a face plate with a wheel adapter and machined the wheel to his satisfaction.
