September 5

Wildfires have been brutal in BC this year. Thousands evacuated and more than a million hectares scorched.
We're lucky here near the coast, though we've been plagued with smoke drifting not only from here in BC but from
wildfires in WA. and OR. also. Add that to the record temperatures we're having and, you've guessed it - not very pleasant out today.
This was taken at 10.50 am today, but the sun totally disappeared soon after. As you can see, even the street lights are on.

With all the fires we had here I am familiar with this sight and the smell that goes with it. Hopefully you will have a break from the firs soon.

It's funny how most people would claim to love Summer, yet it can often be deadly. I hope things will calm again soon, Jean...skies like this are never good.

That has got to be bad for folks breathing, even if one does not have respiratory problems.

This is amazing. It looks either like twilight or a very heavy fog. I've been hearing a lot about the fires, just heartbreaking. V
