LHR/Dubai/Seychelles
My 1st flight on a Boeing B-747, and BA Intercontinental: two giant disappointments.
My Mother has flown the 747 when it was introduced in TAP, back in 1972 and she said she hated it! At the time, I couldn't believe, the most modern, most famous airplane of its days could be so bad!
But it was! Not only the seating was always (on BA) very tight in Economy, the B-747 was the worst plane in turbulent air, it would not take very much to make it shake like a boat, horrible. We had horrendous flight for 7 hours to Dubai, and the 4 hour leg to the Seychelles was not so turbulent, but still much affected by winds!
The Portuguese Navigators used to say "The bigger the ship, the bigger the storm", and how right they were!
This instability was somewhat corrected in the 400 series, but I wouldn't try it for some years to come...
It was so horrendous, so unpleasant, that I cancelled my leg to Mauritius! Stayed 1 week more in the Seychelles, instead...
Return, the same rubbish... And food, etc... miserable...
