TAP Boeing B-727-100 NEW Livery

Lisbon, Portugal view map

In Nov. 1977 there was a terrible fatal accident with a TAP 727-200 in Madeira Island.
In June 1982 I was invited to go there to do a series of professional photographs on a famous hotel.
I had no choice as to take the airplane, and to my sorrows, I decided to bring my brother Antonio, to help me with the lights.
The flight was uneventful, in spite that in the end of the runway, we could still see some pieces of the wreck of the doomed airplane.
This was my 1st, of many trips to Madeira, and at the time, the runway was still at the smallest size, a real challenge!
Soon after they started the 1st enlargement, and some years after, the final one.
Big mistake, they should have changed the location of the airport, but politics, and above all cupidity, didn't allow...
As I said, 2 very 'normal' flights, but it would take me more, much more to fly again...

Exposure is perfect and the sky a nice deep blue which makes the 727 stand out! V
