Hawker Siddeley HS 121 Trident, the last version, just delivered a few months before.
My 1st International flight, again, alone!
At the time, there was this stupid European idea, of having the cheaper flights in the middle of the night, so this one left Lisbon to London Heathrow at 2 AM!
The flights were nice, BEA was much better then the following, nacionalized BA, and on the way back, (also in the night) the Captain called the attention to a Lunar eclipse...
My 1st time in England too. Two weeks in Torquay, 2 days in London, and 2 weeks in Nottingham, 1 in a Scouts camp, and the other with a local Family, that become like my 2nd Parents and I visited often since!
Although not so successful as the USA counterpart B-727, the Trident was a much better machine!
And in spite of the fact the Hawker Siddeley factory closed some years after, latter they were re-born and started to make the wings for several Airbus airplanes! With an huge success!
