Yes, the 400mm f5.6 is an absolutly fantastic lens! The sharpest and lightes/smallest I have ever used! Pity minimum focus is only 4m! Unfortunately, I almost NEVER use a tripod: it's a trauma from my Film days... The Manual Focus is never an issue with the DSRL cameras, altough my eyesight is not what it used to be... Old age...lol...

Thks for sharing this pic! I have been thinking to buy this nikkor 400mm f5.6 , but I do not know if it worths it! You have it on a tripod all the time , correct? I have a d3100 and I love manual focusss! thks!
